The YouTube subscription link is a direct link to your YouTube home page with a modified snippet of code that will automatically ask your viewers to subscribe to the channel.
You can use the subscription link to promote your channel and (possibly) to promote your new videos too.
When people ask for a link- send them your subscription link. When you add a QR code of your channel on your business card or presentations, connect that to your subscription link. When you post your link on social media or in your bio links- make it your subscription link. When you send an email out promoting your channel- include your subscription link! It greatly increases your chance of getting subscribers. And you can easily create an easy-to-remember redirect once you have created the subscription link itself. In this blog, we will show you how to create YouTube Subscription Link in 3 simple steps.
Here is how to create your YouTube Subscription Link:
STEP 1. Get your channel’s URL (move on to step 2 if you already know how to get your YouTube channel’s URL).
HOW TO FIND YOUR CHANNEL URL:
- Go to YouTube signed in as your Main Channel and click on your Profile icon in the top right corner.
- Then Click on Channel
- Then Copy the URL in the Browser and Paste it in a Word Document (or a Note, etc.)
This is your Channel URL. If you’re like me, then your link may look like this. Notice the snippet of code at the end:
Step 2: Replace the code at the end of your URL with new code for your YouTube Subscription Link.
So highlight that area of code on your Word Document and Delete it.
Your new code should look something like this.
Now, let’s add new code to it. Copy this snippet below:
?sub_confirmation=1 <—- copy this now
And Paste it to the end of your Channel URL. Your new URL should look something like this:
This is your Subscribe URL. When people click this link they will immediately be led to your channel with a pop up box asking them to subscribe to the channel. This will increase your subscribers dramatically at first.
Whenever you share your channel you should share this URL with people – especially at the beginning.
Always HYPERLINK this link- never share the actual link because people don’t trust links with code snippet at the end (especially when that code says “subscribe” on it). It feels sneaky.
So here’s what you want to do:
Step 3: Create a shortened link or a custom link to your subscription link that is easy to remember
For example:
YourWebsite.com/youtube —LINKS TO—-> Your Subscription URL
You can also get another URL to use for all short custom links and use Rebrandly.com to create the redirect. This is a paid service that is well worth it.
If you can’t do that right now, do this:
- Go to Bitly.com and create a free account. With this website you can quickly create shortened versions of your links and track how often they get clicked!
- Once signed in, click the orange “Create” button
- Paste your YouTube Channel Link in the Box
When you do this, a new pop up will appear where you can customize the new link. Customize your link and you’re done!
